Cincinnati Celebrates World Refugee Day 2019

Catholic Charities, Refugee Connect and Jesuit Refugee Services at Xavier University are all organizing events in honor of World Refugee Day.  

Megan Iverson <megan.refugeeconnect@gmail.com> is program coordinator for Cincinnati's "Refugee Connect". She is organizing volunteers for this year's soccer themed event, "World Refugee Day Cup", Saturday, June 22 from 9:00 - 5:00 at Xavier University. Volunteers are needed to help with the event. Catholic Charities is sponsoring a World Refugee Day event on June 22 from 11:00 - 3:00 for refugee families at the P&G MLB Reds Youth Academy, 2026 E Seymour. All refugee families are welcome, and volunteers are needed.  Click here  for more information 

Jesuit Refugee Services at Xavier University is offering a free screening of "Not Just Football," an award-winning film that follows "Darfur United" from refugee camps to the Football World Cup. The showing will be June 20 at 7 pm at the Kennedy Auditorium on the Xavier campus. Following the film there will be a brief discussion of the refugee crisis and how people can be advocates locally.
