Thanks to SORVO and especially Gene and Christine Snyder for hosting the annual CARV-SORVO picnic this year. We were thrilled to be back on the beautiful and historic Hadley Farm in Clarksville, OH. Forty RPCVs and their families enjoyed a varied and international potluck and we learned that we spanned the years from 1962, when Hap joined the Peace Corps, all the way up to the 2010s. John Fleming updated the group on the progress towards the new Museum of the Peace Corps experience.
Christine reminded us that her Quaker ancestors arrived in what was to become Clinton County at the turn of the nineteenth century from North Carolina because they were unwilling to live in a slave state. We enjoyed visiting their home museum and historic barn. Here are some photos from the event:
